Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

You will help maintain a safe environment and contribute to a patient-centered care team during evening shifts. The role requires CNA certification; BLS preferred; prior acute care experience preferred.

Education, Experience, Training

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (as Applicable Required)

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State approved Certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
