St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Patient Care Assistant Clerical Assistant for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) located within the Ft. Thomas Hospital.

Shift/Hours: PRN, 2nd (3:00PM-11:00PM) with a rotating holiday schedule. Starting your PCA career at St. Elizabeth means you'll enjoy the culture, compensation, and benefits you want, while receiving the support you need to advance your career.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to perform vital signs and basic assessments.
• Good body mechanics and safe patient handling.
• Proficient with common computer systems and data entry.
• Customer service experience with patients and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain clerical functions for the unit.
• Greet patients and visitors, answer phones with courtesy.
• Complete tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse tasks under supervision.
• Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN/LPN direction.
• Assist with activities of daily living and maintain a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• The PCA is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program.
• Utilizes Customer Service skills when greeting patient/visitors and answering telephone.
• Demonstrates the ability to complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse-generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
• Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a RN or LPN.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, comfort, and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients.

Qualifications

• Education, Credentials, Licenses: High school Diploma / GED
• Specialized Knowledge: Ability to perform tasks such as vital signs
• Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
• General computer skills and applications
• Kind and Length of Experience: Customer service experience
• FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
