Job summary

MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join the Adult Respiratory Unit on the nights shift. Pay range is $23.73–$26.97 per hour with a $1,500 signing bonus for external hires, pending employment requirements.

The role reports to the Adult Respiratory Unit and emphasizes teamwork, safety, and high-quality patient care. Under supervision, the PCA will assist with daily living activities, support unit operations, and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistants with 3 years of experience in an acute care facility or 5 years in a Skilled Nursing Facility or sub-acute setting. Nursing students actively enrolled in a nursing program who have completed the first semester of the nursing program.
• AHA CPR & AED certification is required.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred.

Position Summary

Under direct supervision of licensed personnel, the Patient Care Assistant is responsible for performing activities of daily living for patients and generally assist with the unit activities that support patient care in the (insert department name) at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center. The Patient Care Assistant facilitates a safe, clean working environment and contributes to the health and safety of patients.

• Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements

• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
