Job summary

FRANCISCAN SURGERY CENTER, LLC in Carmel, IN is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support the nursing team with delegated tasks, documentation, and patient flow.

You will help with room preparation, equipment and supplies, answer basic questions about treatment plans, and assist with admissions, transfers and discharges while maintaining empathy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs delegated patient care activities as directed by the RN or medical staff upon completion of documented training, in a manner aligned with age-specific needs to ensure safe, accurate and high-quality treatment of patients.
• Documentation of patient care.
• Participate in organization, cleaning and safety of unit.
• Maintains unit supplies, prepares patient rooms and medical records, enters charges, and answers the multi-line telephone to assist in the safe and efficient operation of the unit.
• Answers questions about treatment plan within the expected scope or refers questions to RN.
• Make rounds and respond promptly to patient requests.
• Assist in the admission, transfer and discharge of patients as directed.
