Job summary

Skills for Chicago is hiring a nursing assistant to provide care on the assigned unit under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Qualifications

• CNA certification or completion of accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of patient care experience preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification through AHA or ARC is required.
• 1+ year of relevant experience in a medical office is required.
• Must have basic computer proficiency for charting and patient documentation.
• Interpersonal skills, prioritization, collaboration, and ability to follow directions are valuable.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Provide care to patients on assigned unit under the direction of a Registered Nurse
• Perform tasks such as vital signs monitoring, 12-Lead EKGs, bladder ultrasounds, blood glucose checks, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, specimen collection, and assisting with bathing, feeding, turning, and ambulating patients
• Assist with patient admissions, preparation for discharge, and implementing patient-specific care plans
• Maintain hourly rounding, assist with safety protocols, and provide emotional support to patients
• Ensure a safe environmentfor patients and deliver a positive, high-quality experience

Skills and Qualifications

• CNA certification orSuccessful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course orminimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation is preferred
• Current CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required
