Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) positioned to support patient care on the unit. The role involves completing nursing assistant tasks under RN supervision, assisting with ADLs, vital signs, I&O, and data collection, while maintaining PHI confidentiality and compliant charting.

The PCNA will contribute to safe patient environments, assist with supply stocking, and help onboard new team members, with emphasis on teamwork, communication, and patient-focused care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care tasks as delegated by the RN and assist in implementing care plans.
• Maintain compassionate interactions with patients, families, and staff.
• Follow evidence-based guidelines to promote patient safety outcomes.
• Provide a safe environment in patient rooms and on units.
• Assist with stocking and ordering supplies for patient care.
• Support unit communication and onboarding of new team members.
