Job summary

Valley Hope of Grapevine seeks a Night Patient Care Aide for a full-time 7pm–7am role at our residential treatment facility between Dallas and Fort Worth. Join a mission-driven team providing compassionate care to individuals in recovery.

Responsibilities include counseling, treatment planning, assessments, and collaborative care with a multi-disciplinary team, plus thorough documentation of patient progress and follow-up needs.

Qualifications

• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license is required.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree with nursing emphasis; 1 year of work experience in behavioral/healthcare with direct patient care.
• PCTC certification is preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides individual and group counseling, therapeutic intervention, and educational lectures to patients and family members.
• Develops, revises, and implements treatment plans.
• Performs face to face assessments.
• Participates on a multi-disciplinary treatment team and attends weekly staff meetings and trainings.
• Develops patient progress reports and establishes follow-up care for patients and their families as needed.
• Provides clinical consultation to referral resources, mentors, family members, and others to support patients in recovery.
• Maintains current knowledge of counseling procedures and substance abuse treatment per policy and state/federal guidelines.
• Records treatment activities and patient observations in records accurately and timely.

Valley Hope of Grapevine, located between Dallas and Fort Worth, provides healing residential and outpatient drug and alcohol addiction treatment services.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification; or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Preferred:

• Associate’s degree with an emphasis in nursing preferred.
• One (1) year of work experience in behavioral or healthcare work environment including direct patient care.
• Work experience in substance abuse treatment facility.
• Patient Care Technician Certification (PCTC).
• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is preferred

COMPENSATION:

Starting pay ranges from $18.00/hr. - $20.00/hr. (based on experience and education)

Shift Differentials:

• Night: $5.00
• Weekend Night: $5.50

JOB SUMMARY:

• Provides individual and group counseling, therapeutic intervention, and educational lectures to patients and family members.

• Develops patient progress reports and establishes follow-up care for patients and their families as needed.
• Provide clinical consultation to referral resources, mentors, family members, and others to help support patients in their recovery.
• Maintains and demonstrates a current working knowledge of applicable counseling procedures and substance abuse treatment in accordance with company policy and State and Federal guidelines.
• Collects and reviews referral information upon assignment of patients and consults with others as needed to support coordination of services.
• Records treatment activities and patient observations in patient records accurately and timely;
• Interacts and communicates with others (patients, co-workers, management, and vendors) in a professional and tactful manner including treating them with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Residential treatment facility setting; requires walking throughout the facility.
• Direct contact with patients.
• Able to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time.
• Able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and able to assist an adult weighing 100-250 pounds.
