Job summary

Hartford HealthCare in Manchester, CT seeks a Nurse Aide to assist patients with daily living activities under RN/LPN supervision. You will help with admissions, transfers, and discharges, and maintain accurate medical records while ensuring patient safety and clear communication with the health care team.

The position requires English communication skills, basic computer familiarity, and CNA certification or eligibility with BLS/CPR.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic computer skills are necessary; Epic experience preferred.
• CNA certification preferred or required upon hire.
• Completion of CNA education and BLS training during orientation and ongoing competency.

Responsibilities

• Provides general aspects of patient care meeting physical and/or psychosocial needs within the nursing assistant scope of practice.
• Assists in admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Communicates observed changes in patient status to RN or LPN and notifies licensed personnel if patient reports pain.
• Collects, reports, and assists in data documentation.
• Delivers patient care in a safe environment promoting positive outcomes.
• Maintains flexibility, organization, and composure under stress.
• Communicates clearly with team leaders, coworkers, and health care team members.
• Performs duties as assigned to promote unit efficiency.
• Transports patients to other departments during admission/discharge as needed.
• Performs tasks including removal of saline locks, Foley catheters, telemetry, EKGs, glucose checks, and other duties as assigned.
