Job summary

Surgical Institute of Reading is hiring a full-time Patient Care Aide (PCA) for our Inpatient Unit. You will provide direct patient care, assist with linens, ambulation, and transport, and help maintain a clean patient environment.

You will participate in patient examinations, record vital signs, and support safe surgical care. Our team values precision, teamwork, and commitment to excellence in infection control and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant License - preferred
• Current BLS.
• Demonstrates necessary clinical competency.

Responsibilities

• Knows and adheres to policies of the Center and demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
• Follows standards, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for peri-operative nursing care according to accepted standards.
• Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge in aseptic technique.
• Demonstrates ability to understand the unique needs of each age group of the patient population.
• Follows OSHA and other standards for protection against blood borne pathogens.
• Seeks involvement in activities that promote professional growth and behavior.
• Uses good body mechanics.
• Remains calm and functions as a team member during times of stress and crisis situations.
