Job summary

Valley Hope of Cushing is seeking a full-time Patient Care Aide (PCA) for day shifts. The role supports nursing staff in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a residential addiction treatment setting.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily activities, and maintaining accurate patient records. CPR certification is required within 30 days of hire; a driver’s license is also required. Night shift differential applies.

Qualifications

• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
• CPR certification; or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in providing care according to treatment plans.
• Measure vital signs and monitor patient health.
• Assist patients with daily needs and activities.
• Communicate with nursing and clinical staff regarding patient status.
• Record treatments and observations accurately; complete paperwork timely.
• Transport patients as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment with infection control practices.
• Protect patient information per HIPAA and company policies.
• Maintain CPR knowledge and obtain recertification as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification; or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

COMPENSATION:

• Base Pay starting at $15.00/hr. (based on education and experience)

Shift Differentials

• Night: $4.25

JOB SUMMARY:

• Assists nursing staff in providing care for patients in accordance with identified treatment plans.
• Measures vital signs patients and monitors the health of patients.
• Assists patients with everyday needs.
• Communicates with nursing supervisors, nursing staff, and clinical staff regarding patients’ treatment and status.
• Records treatment activities and patient observations in patient records accurately and timely; completes paperwork requirements as needed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Transports patients as needed.
• Maintains a safe and sanitary environment applying infection control techniques and universal precautions.
• Adheres to all policies and procedures regarding patient information protection and HIPPA.
• Maintains and demonstrates a current working knowledge of applicable medical procedures and nursing care based on company policy and State and Federal guidelines.
• Obtains (within first six months of employment) and maintains Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Interacts and communicates with others (patients, co-workers, management, clients, and vendors) in a professional and tactful manner including treating them with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Residential treatment facility setting; requires walking throughout the facility and may require unloading of food/stock in temperature extremes.
