BJC HealthCare is hiring a REMOTE Patient Assistant Pharmacy Coordinator. Looking for someone with healthcare experience in Social Work, Pre-Authorization, or Case Management. Epic experience also a plus!

- Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm or 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

- Location: Remote (works with all 6 BJC Siteman/satellite locations)

Role Purpose

Works on behalf of the hospital and the patient to identify and enroll patients in copay assistance and patient drug assistance offered through pharmaceutical manufacturers. Ensures ongoing compliance with the program requirements including verification and reporting of patient insurance status and financial situation. Responsible for completing all data elements in a timely and efficient manner and coordinating communication between pharmacy staff and the manufacturer to order and receive drug shipments in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws. Accepts and posts patient copayment through applicable financial systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a liaison between pharmacy, revenue cycle, patient access, finance, physician’s offices, and sites of care to coordinate the enrollment and maintenance of patients eligible for manufacturer sponsored patient assistance and copay assistance programs.
  • Maintains a list of eligible patients and appointments to procure drug from the manufacturer as prospective or replacement therapy.
  • Monitors receipt of patient assistance medication and coordinates delivery to the correct infusion location.
  • Maintains compliant billing practices for patients receiving benefit from patient assistance programs.
  • Processes patient copayments in financial systems.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
