Job summary

Williamson Health in Franklin, TN is seeking an Ambulatory Surgery Support team member to assist with patient care in the ambulatory unit, ensuring timely, accurate care and smooth operative flow. You will work closely with nurses and surgical staff to prepare rooms, transport patients, and maintain sterile practices.

Requirements include a high school graduate, ability to communicate in English, stand up to 12 hours, lift up to 250 lbs, and flexibility for overtime.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate.
  • Preferred: Medical terminology course or at least one year of experience in health care field.
  • Perioperative Care in an Ambulatory Surgery Environment.
  • Able to communicate clearly in English and stand under pressure in a clinical setting.
  • Able to lift up to 250 lbs and work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with ambulatory surgical patient care in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with the health care team to coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique across procedures.
  • Assist with transport of patients and prepare OR for next case.
  • Support environmental controls and inventory in the OR and related areas.

Job Description

Assist with ambulatory surgical patient care in a timely and accurate manner.

Position Requirements
  • High School Graduate.
  • Preferred: Medical terminology course or at least one year of experience in health care field
  • Perioperative Care in an Ambulatory Surgery Environment
  • The ability to work well under pressure, to function dependently and independently. Standard patient care equipment for services provided. Network computer system. Sterad equipment. Stryker Trio stretchers
  • Ambulatory Surgery Unit with patient population ranging from less than one year of age> ninety-nine plus years of age. Environmental conditions include possible exposure to anesthetics, radiation, and infectious disease entities.
  • Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly.
  • Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day.
  • Able to lift, position, and transport with assistance up to 250 lbs.
  • Able to work overtime/late shifts as required by the center.
Key Results
  • Assists with the patient's care, reports problems/needs, and performs interventions consistent with identified problems as directed by the nurse.
  • Collaborates with appropriate health care team members to help coordinate the delivery of patient care in a timely manner.
  • Maintains a sterile field by using principles of aseptic practice in varying situations, initiates corrective action when break in technique occurs, communicates maintenance of sterile field.
  • Assist with transport of patients.
  • Assists with control of the environment of the OR and other areas (temperature, humidity, and sensory, cleaning), maintain traffic patterns, and adheres to sanitation policies.
  • Return equipment and supplies to proper place and prepare OR room for next case.
  • Maintains work environment and organizes unit.
  • Organizes assigned task and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for assigned communications.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for cost containment using supplies judiciously.
