Job description

Description
The Patient Assistance Counselor II (PAC) provides support to patients who are uninsured, underinsured, have limited benefit coverage, or high out-of-pocket prescription and medical expenses, qualifying them for the Patient Assistance Program. The PAC offers high-quality customer service to patients and healthcare providers (HCPs) for specialty prescription medications provided by the program. Responsibilities include reviewing application documents, conducting insurance investigations when applicable, assessing patients' financial information, and communicating outcomes to patients and HCPs.

Requirements

  1. Access to a secure, private location to work from daily with a fast, secure internet connection.
  2. Maintain a professional dress code and appearance daily.
  3. Consistent attendance and punctuality, including arriving on time for shifts and returning promptly from lunch.
  4. Thorough understanding of commercial and government pharmacy and medical insurance programs, billing, funding resources, reimbursement processes, prior authorization, appeals, and specialty pharmacy operations.
  5. Ability to lead and participate within a team, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
  6. Strong, accurate technical skills.
  7. Attention to detail.
  8. Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Maintain a positive service image, even with challenging issues or dissatisfied customers.
  10. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a regulated benefits environment.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of insurance verification experience.
  • 5+ years of call center experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Empathy and strong interpersonal skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility for benefits depends on job classification and employment length. Benefits may include:
