Join to apply for the Patient Advocate, PRN Days - Acworth Health Park role at Wellstar Health System.

Work Hours: Guaranteed hours include every other Friday and Saturday: 7am - 6:30 pm. PRN shifts are also needed to cover for other patient advocates' time off.

Our facility operates 7 days a week from 7am-6:30pm.

Job Summary

Multi-skilled caregiver functioning under the manager of customer service/patient relations. Acts as a liaison among patients, families, visitors, and employees. Assists in solving consumer-related problems to ensure satisfaction. Communicates facility policies and provides emotional support. Performs duties to ensure quality patient care.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Customer Service Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, offering assistance and providing comfort items as needed.
  • Provide clear information, directions, and support to visitors and patients.
  • Utilize service recovery techniques to address concerns positively.
  • Keep leadership informed of any unusual or challenging situations.
  • Answer inquiries about wait times, delays, and general concerns.
  • Round on patients in waiting areas to inform and assist.
Additional Customer Service Tasks
  • Maintain contact with patients and families, addressing needs within scope.
  • Monitor cleanliness of restrooms and surroundings.
Transport Responsibilities
  • Transport patients via wheelchair ensuring safety.
  • Handle department supplies, equipment, and patient belongings appropriately.
Other Duties

Perform additional duties as assigned, adhering to all policies and standards.

Minimum Education and Certification

High school diploma or equivalent required. All certifications must be obtained upon hire unless specified otherwise.

Experience and Skills

Emergency or customer service experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal, communication, decision-making, organizational, analytical, and computer skills. Ability to remain composed in stressful situations.
