We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Advocate to support patients in navigating and enrolling in Medicaid coverage in the state of Illinois. This role involves direct patient interaction, education on eligibility requirements, and hands-on assistance through the application process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist patients in determining Medicaid eligibility based on Illinois state guidelines.
• Facilitate completion and submission of Medicaid applications and supporting documentation.
• Educate patients about healthcare benefits and coverage options.
• Liaise with state agencies and managed care organizations to track application status and resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA standards.
• Provide ongoing support and follow-up to ensure successful enrollment and retention.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to identify uninsured or underinsured patients.
• Stay current with changes to Illinois Medicaid policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, social work, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 1–2 years experience in healthcare advocacy, social services, Medicaid/insurance enrollment, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Illinois Medicaid eligibility and application processes.
