Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking an admissions clerk to admit, transfer, and discharge patients using the hospital computer system. The role requires courtesy and patience in interactions with physicians, nurses, and patients to maintain positive public relations.

Hours are 7:00AM–7:30PM with rotating weekend work and no on-call requirements. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent with related experience or an associate degree in business, and must be able to type at least

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 1 year admitting experience, or 2 years office/clerical experience, or an Associate's degree in Business.
• Medical terminology course completed or 80% assessment.
• Typing minimum 30 wpm.
• Ability to work independently and communicate tactfully.

Responsibilities

• Admits, transfers, and discharges patients to and from rooms via the computer system.
• Maintain courteous and patient interactions with physicians, nurses, departments, patients and families to support positive relations.
