Job summary

Glenwood Regional Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Clerk to facilitate efficient patient admissions and ensure accurate collection of patient information. You will interview patients or their representatives and enter admission data into the hospital system, while sharing pertinent information with ancillary departments.

The role requires delivering service appropriate to patients’ ages, applying knowledge of growth and development, and following unit policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Medical terminology and billing preferred, either hospital or physician office.
• Working with physician orders and order entry a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interview incoming patient or representative and collect information for admission.
• Enter admission information into the computer database.
• Distribute information to ancillary departments as needed.
• Provide age-appropriate service per unit policies and procedures.
• Apply knowledge of growth and development to meet patient needs.
