Job summary

Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, OR is seeking a Patient Admissions Coordinator to warmly welcome patients and guide them through the intake process. You will coordinate scheduling, verify eligibility, and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure a smooth start to care.

In this role you’ll leverage your healthcare knowledge and strong communication to reduce wait times, explain benefits, and set expectations with patients and families.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level knowledge of healthcare processes is preferred.
  • Certification in CHAA is preferred.
  • Experience in patient access or business office settings is required.
  • Understanding of insurance eligibility systems is expected.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is desired.
  • Knowledge of medical billing codes is a plus.
  • Experience with Epic applications is a plus.

  • Greet patients and initiate the admissions process.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and collect necessary information.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration
  • Upon hire: National Certification of CHAA
  • 3 years of experience in Patient Access of Business office setting.
  • Experience with insurance eligibility systems
  • 3 years of Utilization of medical terminology in job setting
  • Knowledge in medical billing codes
  • 1 year of Knowledge of Epic applications

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Pay range: $20.00 - $28.20.

Contract type: Per-Diem.

Job shift: Day.
