Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director, Patient Accounts, the Patient Accounts Specialist Sr is responsible for billing and collection of hospital receivables, customer service duties, processing and reconciliation of charge-entry, edit, and error reports. The role requires diverse knowledge of Patient Accounts follow-up techniques and familiarity with various payers such as Managed Care, Self Pay, and Auto. The specialist must be consistent, dependable, accurate, and understand the department's purpose, objectives, practices, and procedures. Additional tasks may be assigned by the Manager. The role aligns with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Healthcare.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; minimum of three (3) years of hospital, physician, or insurance payer experience in billing and Medicare/Medicaid collections; working knowledge of federal, state, and county billing guidelines; familiarity with electronic billing systems.
