Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking an experienced Patient Accounts Specialist to join our revenue cycle team supporting our physicians’ billing services. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in physician patient accounts and collections within medical billing operations, with a strong understanding of denial resolution and appeals processing to ensure timely reimbursement.

In this role you will perform accounts receivable follow-up, collect on balances, and communicate billing

Qualifications

• 2 years collection experience in medical billing operations required.
• Knowledge of ICD9/10 and CPT4 coding related to reimbursement.
• Familiarity with denial resolution and appeals processing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining integrity of AR system data.
• Perform follow-up on AR with balances ≤ $3,000.
• Follow appeal procedures for denied claims.
• Identify and communicate carrier complaints to management.
• Adjust patient accounts to facilitate timely reimbursement.
• Meet production quota of 100% of established quota.
