You will bill to third-party insurers and follow up with insurers and patients on balances, with additional duties including cash posting and handling credit balances.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One year hospital billing experience.
• Average to high math skills required.
• Detail oriented with high accuracy; good organizational skills and prioritization.
• Experience with MS4, Midas, Emdeon and MS Office; Excel/Word proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Bill the patient’s account to third party insurers.
• Follow up with insurers and patients for balances.
• Recommend placement of the account if payment cannot be obtained.
• Cash posting, evaluation of credit balances, and responding to inquiries.

Position Summary

The Patient Accounts Representative is responsible for a group of patient accounts from discharge to final disposition of the account.

Job Duties/Respnsibilities

• Bill the patient’s account to third party insurers
• Follow up with both insurers and patients for their respective balances
• Recommend placement of the account if payment cannot be obtained
• Other duties include cash posting, evaluation of credit balances, responding to patient or guarantor inquiries

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One (1) year experience working in hospital billing and collection of third party and self-pay accounts
• Must be able to demonstrate average to high math skills.
• Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
• Must have good organizational and computer technical skills and have the ability to set priorities.
• Experience in MS4, Midas, Emdeon and Microsoft Office products
• Proficiency with Excel and Word is required.
