An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Patient Account Representative to manage insurance claims and ensure accurate billing processes. In this role, you will follow up with insurance payers, document actions taken on patient accounts, and perform essential calculations for Medicare/Medicaid claims. SUMMARY: Follow up with insurance payers on claim resolution. Process bankruptcy notices. Applies knowledge of payor contracts and member co-pay and eligibility requirements. Document action taken on patient's account. Process account correspondence. Performs calculations and clerical duties involved in processing Medicare/Medicaid claims. Provide phone coverage as needed.
Required Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent
Required Experience: Minimum one (1) year medical insurance billing/follow-up experience in the last three (3) years
Preferred Experience: Recent third party payor experience, including insurance follow-up in a medical setting; proven skills in collection, basic computer operation; problem solving and communication; recent hospital patient accounting.
