UW Medicine’s Patient Account and Support Services department has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Account Representative 1

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 40 hours per week
  • Day Shift
  • 100% Remote

  • JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Screen, scan and process incoming correspondence to ensure routing to appropriate work queues/units
  • Print, distribute and mail claims; process returned mail
  • Print medical records and itemizations as required for claims submission
  • Produce and print account summaries, itemizations, and other documents as required, in response to requests from attorneys and others
  • Perform data entry, document activities accurately in all applicable systems, and in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
  • Post adjustments to patient accounts according to departmental procedures
  • Post and balance daily remittances to patient accounts; post allowances and adjustments accompanying cash remittances
  • Maintain confidentiality of information, including protected health information
  • Participate in and attend meetings and trainings
  • May occasionally speak to patients, clinical staff, or third-party payers

    REQUIRMENTS
    High School graduation or equivalent AND one year of experience in patient accounting, customer service, or a related office environment
    OR
    Equivalent education/experience.
