About UW Medicine's Patient Financial Services

UW Medicine's Patient Financial Services department has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Account Representative 2.

Work Schedule
  • 100% FTE, 40 hours per week
  • Remote work environment
  • Day shift
Job Responsibilities
  • Edit and prepare billing forms such as UB, CMS 1500, ADA, according to regulatory and payer requirements.
  • Analyze unresolved accounts and take appropriate action, including addressing payer denials.
  • Assess patients' financial information to determine their ability to pay or qualify for assistance.
  • Review credit balance accounts and act accordingly.
  • Meet departmental deadlines and quality standards.
  • Prepare Accounts Receivable adjustments.
  • Use available resources to verify eligibility.
  • Update patient demographic, financial, and payer information in systems.
  • Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and third-party payers.
  • Review entire patient accounts and determine appropriate resolution strategies.
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of experience in patient accounting, customer service, or related office environment, or equivalent education and experience.
