Aultman Health System in Canton, OH is seeking a Patient Account Representative for physician practice billing focused on insurance payers. You will handle billing and insurance follow-up to accelerate accounts receivable recovery, maintaining production and quality goals while documenting all collection activity in our systems.

This hybrid role supports collaboration across departments, emphasizes accurate denials resolution, and a commitment to excellent service.

Formación

• 1 year billing preferred, 2-3 years optimal with understanding of insurance, payment posting, and/or denials management
• CPC/RHIT certification-preferred
• Medical office billing experience, PC skills, excellent customer service skills, analytical abilities, excellent attendance
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Self-directed and capable of working without direct supervision
• Ability to work collaboratively with others
• Dependable in production, quality and attendance

Responsabilidades

• Manage outstanding accounts receivable for clients and/or assigned payers.
• Contact payers via phone calls or websites for claims information and to assist in account resolution.
• Research and resolution of insurance denials for electronic and paper claims.
• Research, prepare and send appeals for payment to payers. Work collaboratively with revenue integrity to create appeals.
• Help identify denial trends to prevent loss revenue. Work with payment posters if there are issues with posting codes.
• Apply Credits to appropriate accounts
• Discuss billing questions/issues with patients in collaboration with customer service team members.
• Track payer issues for payer relations team to research
• Work special projects as needed
• Follow all Policies and Procedures

Patient Account Representative for medical physician practice billing focusing on insurance payers. Primary responsibilities include billing and insurance follow-up utilizing computer applications to provide accelerated accounts receivable recovery. Focuses on the revenue cycle to optimize revenue, improve cash flow and strengthen our financial position. Documentation on all collection activity is required in computer applications and must maintain production and quality goals.

Working Conditions

• Work eight hours a day. Working M-F or hours as required by the job.
• Hybrid/WFH schedule available
• Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate coverage
• Cross training in all areas in the department is required.
• Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day.
• Ability to work in a cubical setting for long periods of time.
