Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking a Patient Account Registrar to interview patients, collect demographics, and secure insurance information and authorizations. This role supports the Admitting department and requires data entry on a computer, effective communication, and proficiency in medical terminology. Special projects may be assigned with set deadlines.

The position is full-time with 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Competenze

Previous hospital experience in admissions preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines.
Analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Customer service experience required.
High School Graduate or GED equivalent required.

Mansioni

Interview patient or representative to obtain demographics.
Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable.
Coordinate with Admitting PBX and reception areas.
Operate a computer to input and retrieve data.
Communicate with patients using age-specific communication techniques.
Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
Complete special projects within specified timeframes.
