Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking a Patient Account Registrar for full-time days 7:00 am–3:30 pm with rotating weekends. You will interview patients to collect demographics and verify insurance information, benefits, and authorizations as applicable.

Working within Admitting, you'll input data into registration systems, collaborate with PBX and reception, and communicate with patients across age groups while maintaining proficiency in medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Previous hospital admissions experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service experience required.
• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Interview the patient or representative to obtain demographics.
• Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable.
• Work closely with Admitting department including PBX and reception areas.
• Operate computer to input and retrieve data.
• Communicate with patients across age groups using age-appropriate techniques.
• Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
• Complete special projects within specified timeframes.
