San Dimas Community Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Patient Account Registrar to collect patient demographics, verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and enter data accurately. You will work across Admitting, PBX, and front desk teams to ensure smooth patient access.

The role requires strong communication, medical terminology knowledge, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic hospital environment. Temporary status with a flexible shift is offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a hospital admissions or patient access role preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential.

Responsabilités

• Interview patients or their representatives to collect demographics.
• Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable.

Responsibilities

The Patient Account Registrar interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics. This position also secures insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable. Works closely with all facets of the Admitting department including PBX operator function and reception areas. Must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data. Ability to communicate with the population served, utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics. Maintain proficiency in medical terminology. Special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer Services experience required.
• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires)

San Dimas Community Hospital offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $23.00. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
