Job summary

Mercy Medical Center seeks a Patient Account Registrar to interview patients or their representatives, collect demographics, and secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations. You will work with the Admitting department, PBX and reception areas, input data, and communicate with patients across age groups while maintaining medical terminology proficiency.

Works closely with all facets of the Admitting department including PBX operator function and reception areas. Must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data. Ability to communicate with the population served, utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics. Maintain proficiency in medical terminology. Special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits and other forms of compensation, is $16.20 to $23.01. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
