Job summary

Encino Hospital Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare Foundation, seeks a Patient Account Registrar for the evenings shift at our 150-bed Encino facility. You will interview patients, collect demographics and insurance details, and coordinate with admissions.

Strong medical terminology knowledge and customer service skills are essential. Experience in hospital admissions is preferred; the role requires effective communication, multitasking, and data-entry accuracy in a fast-paced healthcare

Responsibilities

The Patient Account Registrar interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics. This position also secures insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable. Works closely with all facets of the Admitting department including PBX operator function and reception areas. Must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data. Ability to communicate with the population served, utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics. Maintain proficiency in medical terminology. Special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits and other forms of compensation, is $23.12 to $26.36 The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
