OakBend Medical Center in Houston, TX seeks a Patient Access Team Lead to model teamwork and provide exceptional customer service while guiding the registration process.
You will oversee timely and accurate registrations, verify benefits, obtain authorizations, educate patients, and ensure smooth operations. The role also includes coaching staff, performing accuracy checks, and supporting technical needs on special projects.
The Patient Access Team Lead key role is to set an excellent example of teamwork, exceptional customer service, registration accuracy, following protocols, training registration staff to ensure all aspects of registrations processes are followed.
The position’s main responsibilities include all of those for a Patient Access Representative to include, but not limited to, timely and accurate registrations, complete benefit verifications, patient education (regarding benefits), appropriate authorizations for services, and exceptional customer service. The Team Lead position also includes registration accuracy checks/controls; training, coaching, and motivating coworkers; assisting with technical and support needs; and special projects as assigned by management.
The Patient Access Team Lead is responsible for protecting the financial health of OakBend Medical Center and providing exemplary customer service to our internal and external customers.
High school diploma and/or some college; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education will be considered.
Supervisory experience, 1-3 years healthcare registration experience required.

Typing 35 words per minute. Excellent computer skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Ability to handle extensive phone calls. Ability to educate/train groups and individuals.
