Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners is seeking an entry level position at Mercy - St Joseph Warren Hospital in Warren, OH. The role pays between $17.00 and $18.15 per hour and is an onsite opportunity with a comprehensive benefits package and potential for paid certifications and tuition reimbursement.

Key duties include patient access tasks, insurance verification, pre-registration, and pre‑service collections, while delivering high-quality customer service and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of customer service experience.
  • Must be inquisitive and open to AI-driven process improvements.
  • CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire (company-paid).

Responsibilities

  • Assign accurate MRNs, complete medical necessity/compliance checks, provide patient instructions, gather insurance information, receive and process physician orders, and utilize overlay tools while delivering excellent customer service as measured by Press Ganey.
  • Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter‑office calls as applicable.
  • Adhere to policies and provide compassionate customer service in all interactions.
  • Be accountable for point‑of‑service goals as assigned.
  • Utilize quality auditing and reporting systems to ensure accounts are corrected, conduct audits, and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership.
  • Pre‑register patient accounts prior to visits, including inbound/outbound calling for demographics, insurance, and financial liabilities, and collect point‑of‑service collections and past‑due balances with payment plans.
  • Explain consent forms, obtain signatures, distribute patient education documents, and handle necessary paperwork such as Medicare and Tricare messages, observation forms, and other service forms.
  • Review eligibility responses in the insurance verification system, select applicable insurance plan codes, enter benefit data to support point‑of‑service collections and billing processes for a clean claim rate.
  • Screen medical necessity using ABN software, inform Medicare patients of potential non‑payment, distribute ABN, and document designated forms and pamphlets.

Experience

Minimum Education
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
Certifications
