Job summary

Gundersen Health System is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to assist patients through registration and financial clearance, verifying demographics and insurance and communicating expected financial responsibility. This 1.0 FTE role requires 40 hours/week, with on-site training in Onalaska, WI and remote eligibility after training, Monday–Friday, 6:30am–5:00pm.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 1 year of office/customer service experience, and strong computer skills; healthcare

  • Time management and organization skills
  • Healthcare experience and familiarity with patient eligibility, insurance, or registration scheduling is a plus!

Support patients throughout the registration and financial clearance process by verifying demographic and insurance information, creating cost estimates for upcoming services, and communicating patient financial responsibility. This role works closely with clinical teams and insurance carriers to ensure accurate information and a smooth patient experience. Job Details


  • 1.0 FTE, 40 hours/week, 8-hour shifts Monday - Friday between the hours of 6:30am - 5:00pm (no weekends or major holidays)

  • Location: Onalaska, WI for on-site training; Remote eligible after completion of training

  • Department: Estimates
