Job summary

Bayhealth Medical Center—Kent Campus in Dover, DE—seeks a full-time Registrar to handle patient registration, verify demographics/insurance, and collect payments. Work in a fast-paced hospital environment with EMTALA compliance and a focus on accurate coding and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: One year in a customer service role; medical office preferred.
• Must have working knowledge of medical insurance and EMTALA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Identify the patient using two-factor identification and comply with EMTALA when registering.
• Complete registration accurately; verify demographics and insurance information.
• Obtain current copies of insurance cards and photo ID; verify information.
• Manage collections and discuss patient payments per policy; balance cash drawer as applicable.
• Schedule referrals and coordinate appointments with specialists and approvals.
• Maintain efficient patient flow and perform receptionist duties.
