Premier Health Partners is looking for a Patient Access Specialist in Dayton, Ohio, responsible for financial counseling and ensuring patient confidentiality. Candidates must possess strong time-management skills and customer service aptitude and should ideally have an Associate's Degree in healthcare.
The position requires proficiency in Windows-based technology and a minimum of a high school diploma. Preferred experience includes customer service or clerical roles in medical settings.
The Patient Access Specialist is responsible for financial counseling, collecting co‑pays and deductibles and/or providing financial assistance education to patients and their families. They handle stat registering, scheduling appointments, completing registration by collecting and entering all pertinent financial and demographic information into the ADT system, verifying insurance benefit information, generating the ABN, reviewing orders for compliance, completing MSP, obtaining financial and treatment consents, placing ordered medical procedures, and obtaining pre‑certification when applicable while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
The role requires patience, composure, compassion, self‑management of ambiguity, strong time‑management skills, interpersonal savvy, and support of peer relationships. The specialist must demonstrate expert functional and technical skills, assess and evaluate each patient’s financial status, apply the hospital’s financial policies, secure payments, maintain excellent customer service standards, and communicate effectively with physicians, offices, patients, and co‑workers.
Patient Access Specialists must efficiently perform all duties while ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy rights.
Medical Terminology certification preferred.
