PATIENT ACCESS & SCHEDULING SPECIALIST-LEVEL I

Job Type: Full Time - 80 Hours, Day Shift

On Call: No

Job Summary:

Provides assistance, guidance, and direction to patients, visitors, and vendors. Obtains accurate patient demographic and billing information, receives authorization to bill, treat, admit, and waiver signatures as required. Collects co-pays and co-insurance payments and prepares receipts. Coordinates diagnostic and treatment activities for multiple services within Davis Health System. Evaluates the patient’s third-party payor and diagnosis to ensure medical necessity when appropriate.

Position Qualifications:
  • Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred Experience: One year of experience in customer service
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of medical terminology and third-party payers
Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently and effectively
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Diplomatic handling of difficult situations
Physical Demands:
