• Minimum: HS Diploma/GED.
• 1 year of customer service experience.
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and work with doctors and staff.

Responsibilities

• Schedules appointments for patients by phone or in person.
• Matches physician availability with patient date/time preferences.
• Communicates with physicians and staff about scheduling concerns.
• Verifies patient demographic information.
• Verifies current insurance and updates records in PM and EMR systems.
• Collects co-pays, self-pays, and balances.
• Ensures information is complete and ready for charge entry.
• Completes daily close out procedures and referrals/pre-certifications.
• Files and distributes patient information and mail.
• Distributes patient requests timely.
• Works with central billing office on requests.
• Completes medical records reports.
• Orders supplies as needed.
• Types correspondence and reports.
• Implements customer service principles with patients.
• Prepare new patient records and answers phones within three rings.
