Job Summary

• Collect and accurately input data into the hospital registration system.
• Obtain signatures on all appropriate forms and issue all required notices to patients or their families.
• Verify insurance, identify certification requirements, and obtain necessary authorizations. Notify supervisory personnel if authorization is required but not on file.
• Calculate estimated amounts due and request payment using hospital-approved scripts.
• Document pertinent events regarding account handling, including researching prior accounts.
• Encourage team behavior and deliver exceptional patient/guest experiences.
• Promote patient safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One to two years of clerical experience required; experience with insurance verification and in hospital or medical settings preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills required. Computer proficiency and the ability to type 30 WPM are necessary. Ability to interpret medical terminology is also required.
