Patient Access Representative, Part-Time (178th and Pacific)

Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 4:30pm - 8pm; Every other weekend 9am - 5pm

Job Summary: The Patient Access Representative is the first point of contact for patients at Think. Responsibilities include welcoming patients, coordinating check-in via pre-registration and intake, directing patients to appointments, scanning insurance cards, uploading documents, and collecting co-payments.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Welcome and engage patients, delivering excellent customer service.
  • Scan insurance cards and documents, and collect payments.
  • Assist and educate patients on pre-registration and intake processes.
  • Ensure accurate check-in and direct patients accordingly.
  • Verify and update patient information across systems.
  • Obtain signatures for patient releases and schedule future appointments.
  • Address and escalate patient issues and questions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of medical insurance workflows.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and privacy rules.
  • Professional communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Proficiency with computers and software like Word and Outlook.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Represent Think positively and professionally.

Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with training in typing, transcription, medical terminology, and record keeping. Equivalent experience considered.
