Job summary

Essentia Health in Duluth, MN is seeking a friendly Patient Access Representative to greet patients and manage the registration process, both in person and via virtual interactions. You will collect demographic and financial information and provide cost estimates for upcoming visits.

You will coordinate with the clinical team, schedule follow-ups, and ensure accurate data capture for billing and compliance, while delivering compassionate service to patients and families in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as Patient Access Representative or Scheduler.
• Certification within six months of hire.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to obtain complete demographic details, financial information, and minimum health information.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards and updates patient information in the medical record.
• Performs point-of-service data collection, including collecting co-payments and down payments.
• Maintains work queues and assists clinical team as needed.
• Answers calls, schedules appointments, and refers to clinical team as needed.

Interviews and obtains demographic and financial information from patients or their representatives through face-to-face and virtual interactions to provide Essentia Health with the documents and data necessary to ensure appropriate care and compliant, accurate patient registration and billing.Education Qualifications:This position serves as liaisons between patients and Virtual Patient Registration Representatives and Patient Schedulers.
