Job Details:

  1. Day Shift: M-F w/ occasional Saturdays
  2. 8A-4:30P
  3. Provides a positive patient experience to patients and families. Demonstrates strong communication and customer service skills while registering patients. Accurately searches and selects the correct patient. Gathers complete and accurate demographic and insurance information from patients and families. Identifies uninsured patients for referral to Medical Assistance/Charity Care evaluation. Retrieves orders, confirms medical necessity, and answers phones for outpatient visits. Gathers worker’s comp or auto insurance information from accident patients, collects patient out-of-pocket liability/copays, verifies insurance, and confirms referrals and authorizations are on file, if required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Interacting with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson's values.
  • Gathering accurate demographic information and managing patient records.
  • Requesting and scanning photo ID and insurance cards.
  • Entering orders, confirming medical necessity, and interviewing patients for Medicare Secondary Payer (MSPQ) questionnaires.
  • Verifying insurance coverage and benefits using RTE, Phreesia, or payer websites.
  • Ensuring regulatory and compliance requirements are met.
  • Achieving individual and team performance metrics.
  • Communicating and collecting out-of-pocket liabilities at the time of service.
  • Rotating assignments across all points of service within Patient Access.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient with computer and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, customer service skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in healthcare or business administration preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of customer service experience in a customer-facing role, or current Jefferson Seamless Access Representatives with at least 1 year of experience.

Work Shift: Day (United States of America)

Location: 4900 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA
