Job summary

Endeavor Health is hiring a Part-Time Patient Access Representative in Naperville, IL. The role supports in-patient, out-patient, ER, and same-day surgery patients with timely pre-registrations, registrations, and data capture in the hospital's information systems.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with an associate degree preferred. Evening shifts 3:00 pm–8:00 pm, plus alternating Saturdays, offers a pathway to growth within a fully integrated health system.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-registrations, registrations, and data entry for in-patient/out-patient/emergency/same-day surgery.
• Collect and verify demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data.
• Screen for third-party eligibility and coding for payment.
• Explain revenue cycle concepts and payment options to patients and families.

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Patient Access Representative

Location:

Naperville, IL

Part-Time (20 hours) Evenings

Monday- Friday: Monday, Tuesday, Friday: 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Alternating Saturdays from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm

What you will need:

• Education: High School diploma or GED
• Associate degree in business or healthcare (Preferred)
• License: A valid driver's license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.
• Experience & Skills (Preferred): Manual dexterity to operate various office machines
• Minimum one to two years of registration, scheduling, patient accounts, cash collections or customer service experience in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of health insurances, medical terminology and anatomy
• Strong data entry and keyboarding skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Bilingual skills

What you will do:

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, responsible for providing in-patient, out-patient, emergency room, immediate care and same day surgery patients with timely and accurate pre-registrations, registrations, order management, charge capture, cash collection functions and medical information systems. Collects, analyzes and records demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data from multiple sources and obtains other information and signatures necessary for the above processes. Screens for third-party eligibility and enters medical necessity coding to ensure accurate payment is secured. Interacts in a customer-focused manner to ensure the needs of patients and their families are met and that they understand the hospital's revenue cycle expectations, including resolution of personal liabilities through various payment options.
