Position Summary: The Patient Access Representative serves as the first impression of OrthoNebraska for patients. We seek a candidate who can deliver excellent service in a fast-paced setting, exceeding patient expectations. Key responsibilities include accurate entry of patient information, insurance verification, scheduling appointments, and collecting upfront payments.

Position details:

• Status: Full-Time
• Shift: Days
• FTE / Hours: 1.0 / 40
• Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Position Requirements:

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required
• Experience: 2+ years in customer service, healthcare experience preferred, experience in a fast-paced environment preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Understanding of the revenue cycle is preferred
• Proficient with Electronic Medical Records and computer software
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including a welcoming personality, customer service focus, empathy, professionalism, teamwork, communication, critical thinking, adaptability, and flexibility

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide exceptional customer service, prioritizing patient needs
• Use multiple software programs simultaneously
• Pre-register patient charts prior to service
• Verify insurance eligibility
• Collect copayments and patient balances professionally
• Accurately enter patient demographic and insurance information
• Check in patients efficiently and personally
• Schedule appointments with patient convenience in mind
• Leave a positive, lasting impression differentiating OrthoNebraska
• Assist with wayfinding and paperwork as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and respect patient rights
• Participate in team meetings, possibly outside normal hours
• Follow safety policies and regulatory requirements (OSHA, The Joint Commission)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements: This is Sedentary Work, involving sitting most of the time, with occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 10 pounds. Standing or walking briefly may be required.
