Position Highlights:
  • Position: Patient Access Representative Lead
  • Location: Evanston, IL

  • Hours: Rotating days and weekends, 3pm – 11:30pm, Rotating Holidays
  • Travel: None required
Job Summary:

Responsible for facilitating healthcare access according to policies, creating accurate registration records, and managing payment collections. Acts as a resource for customers and staff, responds professionally to communications, and serves as a department leader. Performs QA and coaching, provides on-call support, and reports to the Manager of Patient Registration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exemplify standards in all patient access functions
  • Provide weekend on-call coverage and respond promptly to issues
  • Assist in staffing and scheduling, communicate staffing needs
  • Handle escalations, perform service recovery, and involve management as needed
  • Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training staff; maintain training materials
  • Order supplies, manage cash, and reconcile payments
  • Prepare reports, audit registrations, and maintain quality standards
  • Provide performance feedback to management
Minimum Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED; college preferred
  • Experience: 3 years in patient access or healthcare customer service; 1 year supervisory experience preferred
  • Skills: Leadership qualities, knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD coding, customer service, problem-solving, organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, adaptability to technology
Physical & Environmental Conditions:
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Light physical effort, manual dexterity required
  • Potential exposure to infectious substances
