Job Description - Patient Access Representative II Cardiology Part Time Days (2506001277)

Job Summary

Under limited supervision, functions as a resource to Patient Access Representative I. Provides training, orientation, and input for departmental policies. Resolves complex eligibility or insurance verification issues through contacts with patients, agencies, hospital departments, and third-party payers. Assists with financial counseling to help patients identify payment sources. Verifies insurance coverage, obtains authorizations, and calculates patient liabilities. Reviews and reconciles patient accounts to ensure accurate billing and compliance. Registers and schedules patients, explains forms, and ensures necessary documentation is completed. Coordinates test and service scheduling, develops patient relationships, and resolves billing issues promptly. Performs duties of Lead as requested and participates in special projects.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma; associate degree in related area preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience in patient access, hospital registration, or related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of third-party payer requirements, reimbursements, and copayment/deductible collections.
