Overview

UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry’s UT Dentists is hiring a Patient Access Representative I to join their team. The PAR will handle phone calls, understand dental terminology, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and manage front desk duties. Dental knowledge is preferred.

Position Responsibilities

• Gather demographic, insurance, and financial info; enter accurately
• Schedule appointments and document in system
• Explain forms and obtain signatures
• Ensure medical necessity compliance
• Collect payments, establish payment plans, review charity applications
• Verify insurance benefits and complete notifications and authorizations
• Post payments and generate receipts
• Communicate professionally with staff, providers, insurance, and patients
• Follow policies, manage time and supplies, ensure accuracy
• Support professional growth and mentorship
• Perform additional duties as needed

Qualifications

• Proficient typing and multitasking skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year experience in a healthcare or medical office setting

Physical Requirements

Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
