Job Description
Registration
  • Greet patients & verify demographics
  • Create, scan, & route documents or electronic forms
  • Inform patients about documents & obtain signatures
  • Establish and assign financial responsibility, assist with arrangements following policies
  • Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on accounts
  • Address registration errors or denied insurance claims in the work queue
Scheduling
  • Coordinate with nursing team & providers to schedule appointments
  • Obtain and coordinate referrals & conduct pre-authorizations
  • Arrange interpreter services
  • Check patients in/out
  • Operate multi-line phones
  • Manage work queue issues, recall and waitlists, and serve as switchboard operator
Additional Duties May Include
  • Preparation & coordination of charts
  • Organize supporting provider documents
  • Initiate & collaborate on patient financial assistance
  • Track patient visits & health information on accounts
  • Manage assessments and coordinate Telemed appointments
  • Make reminder calls for appointments
  • Handle hospital admissions
  • Perform office duties like copying or faxing
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; post-secondary education helpful. One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful; customer service skills are essential. Six months' customer service experience is desired. BLS certification may be required for certain locations.
