Job summary

Endeavor Health in Bolingbrook, IL seeks a Patient Access Representative to perform pre-registrations, registrations and related revenue-cycle tasks. You will handle demographic, insurance and clinical data, ensuring accurate information and proper signatures at the point of care.

Responsibilities include third-party eligibility screening, coding for medical necessity, and guiding patients through payment options with a customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in business or healthcare preferred.
• Driver's license required for off-site duties, with insurance coverage as needed.
• 1–2 years registration, scheduling, patient accounts or customer service in healthcare.
• Knowledge of health insurances, medical terminology and anatomy.
• Strong data entry and keyboarding skills; MS Office knowledge.
• Bilingual abilities are valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely pre-registrations, registrations, order management and cash collection for in-patient, out-patient, ER and same-day surgery.
• Collect and verify demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data; obtain necessary signatures.
• Screen for third-party eligibility and code medical necessity to ensure accurate payment.
• Interact with patients and families to explain revenue cycle expectations and payment options.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range: $19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Location: Bolingbrook, IL

Full Time (40 hours)

Hours: Week 1: M, Tue, Thu, & Fri shift is 11a-7: 30pm and Saturday 6:30am-3pm Week 2: Monday to Friday 11am-7:30pm.

Holidays Rotating Schedule with staff Rotating Weekends - as needed for call offs

Position Highlights: Position: Patient Access Representative

What you will need

• Education: High School diploma or GED
• Associate degree in business or healthcare (Preferred)
• License: A valid driver’s license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.
• Experience & Skills (Preferred): Manual dexterity to operate various office machines
• Minimum one to two years of registration, scheduling, patient accounts, cash collections or customer service experience in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of health insurances, medical terminology and anatomy
• Strong data entry and keyboarding skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Bilingual skills

What you will do

• Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, responsible for providing in-patient, out-patient, emergency room, immediate care and same day surgery patients with timely and accurate pre-registrations, registrations, order management, charge capture, cash collection functions and medical information systems.
• Collects, analyzes and records demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data from multiple sources and obtains other information and signatures necessary for the above processes.
• Screens for third-party eligibility and enters medical necessity coding to ensure accurate payment is secured.
• Interacts in a customer-focused manner to ensure the needs of patients and their families are met and that they understand the hospital's revenue cycle expectations, including resolution of personal liabilities through various payment options.
