Location and Schedule:

Location: UHealth Tower

Schedule: PRN, as needed, with alternating weekends.

Job Overview:

The Patient Access Representative 1 (On-Site) (U) projects a professional and welcoming demeanor, greeting visitors (vendors, customers, patients, staff, students, etc.) promptly in person or by phone, and referring inquiries appropriately. They serve as the first point of contact for patients and customers entering the facility/department, effectively interfacing with the healthcare team and keeping patients informed of delays.

Core Job Functions:
  1. Greet visitors and direct them to their destinations.
  2. Answer incoming calls and make outgoing calls efficiently.
  3. Provide exceptional customer service to enhance the institutional image.
  4. Respond to general questions and inquiries, forwarding non-routine requests to appropriate staff.
  5. Assist with administrative tasks such as sorting departmental mail and troubleshooting office equipment.
  6. Maintain department directories and visitation logs.
  7. Keep the reception area tidy and clean.
  8. Order department supplies as requested.
  9. Maintain a professional appearance and pleasant demeanor to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  10. Adhere to university and departmental policies, safeguarding assets.

Core Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:
  • Knowledge of office procedures and operations
  • Skill in accurate data entry
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail in completing assignments
  • Discretion in handling confidential information
