Qualifications

• 6 months relevant experience in customer service, billing, registration, finance, or accounting in a medical office, hospital setting, or insurance office.
• A bachelor's degree substitutes for required experience.
• High School or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently register patients in Epic; monitor patient flow to ensure best-in-class experience.
• Monitor schedules and determine financial responsibility; arrange payment plans and assist access to resources.
• Coordinate referrals with physicians and staff to meet payor requirements timely.
• Provide MyChart access and empower patient access to information.
• Update patient records and charges as needed.
• Support clinic operations; handle cash and ensure payments credit correctly.
• Support performance excellence initiatives and improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Provide training and orientation as needed; perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Responsible for accurately registering patients in EMR including validating patient information, verification of insurance coverage, collection of required payments and ensuring the patient's experience is best in class. Responsible for understanding and compliance of state and federal regulations related to hospital registrations.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently register patients in Epic; monitor and manage the flow of patients through the clinic using initiative to ensure the patient experience is best in class.
• Monitor patient schedules and review accounts to determine the patient's financial responsibility and arrange payment plans to collect. Assist patients with access to government and community resources to enhance their access to health care services.
• Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners and nursing staff to ensure referrals to other providers/services/facilities are completed in accordance with payor requirements in a timely manner.
• Facilitate the patient's access to information including but not limited to MyChart access.
• Accurately update patient records as needed.
• Accurately enter and update charges as necessary.
• Clinic Operations
  • Actively support clinic, hospital and health system initiatives related to improvement in day‑to‑day operations.
  • Manage cash in accordance with established policies and procedures to ensure that payments are accurately credited to patient accounts and cash is maintained securely.
